So I was reading a post a little bit ago about the Fuji Track Pros having an issue with chainrings not fitting right if they were over a certain size and not the stock one... I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on this matter when it comes to the Motobecane Team Track, or was the issue resolved? I have a set of the Omnium Track cranks that I want to put on a Team Track frame I'm looking to get and just want to be sure they fit...
144 BCD on the DA crankset, same as the Omniums. They should fit.
it's more to do with the bottom bracket width than the chainring diameter.
i know the fuji track comp was redesigned to give lower q factor but the main thing that you all have to realize is that the track team is NOT an exact analogue to the ftp... it's made by the same factory but certain things could have been changed and i don't know which year ftp was used as the base for the track team design... so if there were issues at one point it's possible they are still issues. i'd be very hesitant to draw conclusions without actual experience. i haven't seen one with omniums yet.

I think he means the tooth count of the chainring.

supposedly the team track is the 08 track pro model and that was the year that had the issue with the chain stays and chainring clearances...

would there be an issue with the bottom bracket not fitting? i am thinking about getting some omniums

but noticed that it says the bb wont work with frames needing a spindle length longer that 107-108mm
via http://www.motobecane.com/track/#geo
and the bb that comes with the team track has a spindle of 109.5 which i think would make the omniums not a choice with this frame.
so my question is, will the omnium bb fit in the team track?
i realize that i might be answering my own question, but also dont feel entirely certain about this as the bike island site is the only one that mentions it, everything else ive found about the bb doesnt say anything about it.
no, the dura ace bb has a spindle of 109.5, the team track will easily fit the omniums with their included 48t ring because it runs the cranks at 42mm. it's just the spindle length, which corresponds only to the bottom bracket-crank fitment, that is different between the two crank setups.
read up on how cranks, bottom brackets, and chainline is all measured and you'll understand why i'm saying it's not going to be a problem.
think of it like using a different hub knuckle and offset wheel on a car. you change out the hub(spindle/bb) and you need to run a different offset wheel(crankset) to get the right fitment(chainline)... where as if you run a set that's meant to work together it will give you the right fitment(bikes are all pretty standardized except old peugots/french and some italian bikes and single cotter designs) unlike cars. it's a bad metaphor, like pretty much every car/bicycle metaphor. i'm just trying to paint you a picture.
