Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Senior Forum

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I would love to see a Senior - maybe over 50?- forum. How about it?

Denver just had a poll on this; I don't think it is going to happen at this moment. However, I am looking to re-structure the forums over the winter, I'll keep in mind age-based forums, but wont make any promises.
And DnvrFox's other postings going back 18 months.
Maybe there are a few more 50+ people on here now compared with then, but I've not really had any problems differentiating discussion dealing with issues more specific to older riders. Anyway, I thought DnvrFox was for making sure the group wasn't marginalised by tags such as seniors, oldies, aged and so on. Surely 50+ is a marker in its own right and only serves to create that marginalisation. I might be wrong, though.
I also seem to remember DnvrFox initiating the Recreation Riding forum and that was very slow to get off the ground. Even now, its postings are irregular and most of the information in it could be dealt with under General Discussion.
I've also noted that other discussion lists with forums dedicated to older types seem to sink into curmudgeonly arguments and bickering, and miffed listers leaving (try Classic Rendezvous as an example). Closer to home, the Women's forum seemed to become similar (however, I do mourn its passing as a viable and vibrant discussion point).
I'm 49 and not keen on the idea of being a short way off having to list in the "old people's home". Sorry DnvrFox.
Did you get your feelings hurt again Denver?
