I can use a Cannondale T800 for a multiday ride of the 183mi. C&O Canal. Washington D.C. to Cumberland, MD. Would this be a good choice or should I just stick to a MTB. (Not camping. 4 days)
Thanks

I have ridden it twice from Cumberland to DC . . . If dry, most sections could be ridden with the 800, but I would much prefer a mountain bike, with knobs . . . Most of the trail is dirt, and there are some sections where its rocky, sections with Gravel, and sections where the trail is a sharp rocky surface . . . It can be ridden, but I would say you will enjoy it more with the MTB

We did the motel thing in 02: http://bike.wbdesigns.com/co.html
And camped in 01: http://bike.wbdesigns.com/cno.html

How wide of tires can you put on the T800? What brakes are on it?

If you can put cyclocross tires of 35mm or so on it, I might try it. I've done trails with my cyclocross bike, but a MTB would be more comfortable.
