General Cycling Discussion - I have a new cycling buddy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Oscar,
That is GREAT news! I wish you many happy hours in the saddle together.
I just bought a used 10-speed for my wife. She has been riding my daughter's old dept store mtb which is not the easiest rolling bike. She wouldn't let me buy her a new bike. I hope it will be the catalyst for getting us out on more weekend rides together.
Regards,
Raymond

Good news for both Racso and Rainman, good riding to you both!:D
Yo Rainman,
I'm kinda in the same boat. All of a sudden the wife
is wanting to join me on regular rides...
so her Bianchi isn't sitting as idle as it was
Of course my evening rides have dropped in
length but its worth it.
She even mentioned doing Ride for Roses with me
(I'll drop mileage to something reasonable like 40 miles)
Lets keep it in the family!

My son is only 2, and can only ride a tricycle (which he calls his "bike"). Today I went cycling, and before I left the house, I was riding around where my son could see me. I saw a look on his face that made me really excited to be his hero. I can't wait for him to be able to ride with me on his own bike.
Lotek and Rainman - sounds like it may be time to consider a tandem. My wife had always been into cycling, but in all honesty riding with her was a pain until we got a tandem. Before we could never keep the same speed and it was nearly impossible to talk to each other. The tandem solved both problems. Now I can hammer and she can talk!
