One of the interesting and valuable statistics is posts per mile ridden. (I don't really know why it is interesting and valuable - do you?)

Anyway, one might propose that those with a high posts/mile might be typing too much and riding too little??

Sadly, that likely includes me.

It can be even more telling when one realizes that posts to certain forums are not counted.

The most important variable, of course, is length of time one has been a participant on the forum. Folks like me (August, 2001) have had a lot more opportunity to waste more time!!

I don't know that it's much of an accomplishment, but at lease I'm not so pathetic as to have checked to see who had the most posts.

Yeah, I'm in there at #77 (if I counted right). Quite a few of us on the list. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Probably more of a no-thing.

I did just a few miles short of 8000 a year the past few years. My total post count since 12-31-06 now is 4253. I have no idea what that is in miles per post or post per mile.

I'm curious. Being new to the forums I have wondered why anyone would care about their post count.

When you hit 1,000 do you get a secret encoder ring? When you hit 15,000 do you get the helium filled tires?

What's the deal? Is it a competitive thing?

When I see patentcad's number and then think of the brevity of his individual posts, as entertaining as they occasionally are, they pale against the real substance of the posts of a member like carpediumracing (4350 app.).

I have read some high frequency posters output and thought "What on earth are they doing on this forum? Have they even been on a bike in their life?"
