Kind of odd that someone who rode away with victory at Flanders and Roubaix would say he is "tired" as an excuse for not riding Liege... How does he know he is tired??? He beat the best by 3 minutes, how can he know he is tired without racing and performing poorly?? I was hoping to see him at Liege... Oh well, I'll give him a piece of my mind when he rides past me in Santa Cruz.

Would you stop making all of these threads about how you have a hard on for Cancellara? He beat everyone by 3 minutes because no one wanted to work together to catch him. There was a group of about 10 that could have caught him had they been fighting for first but they decided to fight for 2nd and not chase. And for the love of God please stop calling him Fabu!

I doubt I'd be too far out on a limb to pick him to win Amstel.
I'll be down there on Sunday to check if he does.

good, that means the rest of the peleton actually has a chance.:p
i'll go with valverde who has been awful quiet as of late but would prefer
to see either gilbert or pozzato get the win at amstel.

Cancellara will skip Amstel and LBL even though Riis says he is in the form of his life. Cancellara says he needs to rest until the Tour of California.

The Ardennes classics are different from the cobbled classics. Less suited to Cancellara's ability.

Paris-Roubaix & Tour of Flanders are different types of races. More built for the Belgium rider or bigger sprint rider type.
Fleche Wallone / LBL is closer to the GT which is being targeted by the smaller built riders.

Well said merlinextraligh. There is much less of a chance for Cancellara to out kick Valverde or Gilbert on the Côte de la Redoute. Plus it would be unwise to push so hard in the early season. I bet Riss would like the media rush that Cancellara is starting to produce as of late, surely its good for sponsorship.
Cancellara says he needs to rest until the Tour of California.
Come May I put Cancellara near the top of the list for GC favorites for Tour Of California. The stage 7 Time trail is suited perfectly for him.

No! You said "The Ardennes classics are different from the cobbled classics. Less suited to Cancellara's ability".
I said "Paris-Roubaix & Tour of Flanders are different types of races. More built for the Belgium rider or bigger sprint rider type. Fleche Wallone / LBL is closer to the GT which is being targeted by the smaller built riders".
I wasn't specifically referring to Cancellara but a whole host of bigger sprint type riders opting for different types of races.
OK! So you may have said something similar.

It may also have something to do with letting Andy Schleck take a clean shot. If Cancellara was at Amstel, either he would be riding for himself, hurting Schleck or riding for Schleck, which he'll have plenty of opportunity to do at the TdF.
Besides, he doesn't really have a shot at the TdF, but may have a shot at the ToC. Winning progressively bigger multiday races may be the next notch he wants on his belt.

I want Zabriskie to beat Levi at ToC.. it's a bit of a long shot since Levi climbs so well and is magical at TT like Alberto.
Fabu would have no chance at Amstel imo, 180lbs, no way he's makin it up all those climbs faster than the tiny guys.. I want to see Frank and Andy cross the finish line holding hands at Amstel and Liege, lol!
