Western Canada - Bike Expo in Vancouver 24-25 April 2010

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just wanted to let everyone know, that there is an expo at the Vancouver Convention Center for next weekend. I am really surprised that not a lot of people know about it. Especially the bike shops in town.
Anyways, it is on the 24th and 25th, which is the Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are $10 at the door, no advance tickets can be purchased online.
I plan on going down to check it out myself but I have no idea what it is going to be like.

this "bike expo" was the greatest waste of time i have ever attended. there were just a handful of bike (barely) related booths showing, this was actually the outdoor adventure show and there were probably 50% of participants that were hotels/accommodation and tourism promotion.
i spent more time at MEC later the afternoon than i did at the expo.
i really suspect more people knew about it - and absolutely avoided it. i kick myself for not reading the fine print before attending.
Yeah, I went not realising that is was an OUTDOOR trade show. Loads of fishing lodges were out in force.
Only cool things were:
1) Cunningham cycles was there with lots of nice bikes
2) Mantracker was there, nice guy to talk to
3) The booth with the wooden kayaks
Probably never going again, didn't mean to disappoint anyone.
the DIY wooden kayaks were pretty cool.
and my buddy and i did bike from surrey to attend - so the day wasn't at total waste (well sort of cheated - we avoided the New West hills - so we skytrained that part to burnaby).
and - we did get a free bag of trail mix at the door...

Here is a little bit about the company.

They were beautiful things and the guy (not sure if he was owner or now) at the booth was really nice. Asked him loads of questions and he answered all of it, even though it was plain from the get go that I would not be able to afford one of the kayaks.
PS. This company is based in BC, so totally local, which is cool.
