Good luck with this. As has been discussed Alpha Q is out of the fork business. They have zero stock of any remaining forks. I spoke to them just a couple of weeks ago. eBay has been scoured and every distributor has been searched. You will be better off looking for something else for the front of your tandem.

Wound Up still makes their fugly tandem fork here is a link: http://www.woundupcomposites.com/tandem_fork.html, and their Tandem Duo here: http://www.woundupcomposites.com/tandem_duo.html

Wound up--awesome fork, just not my cup o' tea aesthetically.

I literally just got off the phone with Edge Composites and they told me the 2.0 has been increasingly used for tandems since it's the strongest one they make and has no weight limit. They also mentioned they're working with Co-Motion on a tandem-specific fork (which might just be a rebranded 2.0--that's my conclusion, not their words).

If I can get an Edge 2.0 to work, that'd be the bees knees.

If they do make an Edge tandem fork there will be many of us in line to buy them. I would just to have a spare fork.

Edge is not the bees knees....

what are the drawbacks you see on having an edge 2.0 for a tandem--assuming edge is giving the thumbs up for its use in that capacity?

Let's just say that Edge does not presently offer a tandem-ready fork and leave it at that for the time being.

Hi all.

For what it's worth, I just spoke with Edge. Their 2.0 is said to test stronger than the X2, and within my total weight area, I'll be fine using the 2.0 for tandem use. I'll be going with this fork for my upcoming build.

Disclaimer: as they say, your mileage may vary...

Thanks for the comments & input.

Interesting....

Again, that's a very short fork @ 367mm, even shorter than the Alpha Q @ 374mm.

no problem with that--will be running ultegra 6700 calipers and 25c tires, and maybe 28c at some point (for which the 2.0 will still clear, per edge).
