you know, my mom had an old exercise bike that had something like that. i wonder if you could nab one of those at a thrift shop.
I have this one living in my attic....

Even rarer is a dual analog meter with a cadence readout on one side and a speedometer on the other, like an automotive tach and speedo display. I have seen only one, and that was in the early 1970s, when they first came out.

Let's call that a " bicycle speedometer," & then search E Bay. Some of the new cheap round ones are junk.

You do realize that this is not a tachometer and an odometer. Your speedometer is just that, a speedometer only but with Imperial(miles per hour) and metric(kilometers per hour) indicated. This item would have been produced for/in Canada after the bilingual laws were passed many years ago.
I probably have a couple of these(see pic), or similar, complete with cable and drives, tucked away in The Old Shed. The trick is finding them.

Ebay is your best bet. I've bid on a 1/2 dozen speedometers in the last couple months and havent won one. One thing to me aware of is there are a lot of speedometers on ebay WITHOUT the drive cables. Read the desciption carefully. Also make sure its for 27" wheels(if thats what you are riding). Lots of speedos for 20" and 24" wheels out there. And whatever you do, dont bid against me.:)
Had the Square one and the round one as a kid.
I have a Schwinn Approved Heuet(sp) I plan on Ebaying. Speedo works and cable is good but the drive is questionable. Its for a 27 inch wheel. It is that funky drive that rides on the side of the tire. Cable is maybe 14 inches.

Now that is weird. The land of expensive towel racks.... and bicycle speedometers.
