Road Cycling - Xero wheels

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey guys I'm buying a Giant OCR Elite. I've researched about every component on that bike and found it to be good stuff. There is one exeption however. I can't seem to find any info on the wheels. They are Xero XSR-2 aero wheels. The hubs are also listed as Xero XSR-2. Does anybody have any experience with these wheels/hubs? Are they decent? I'm not a weight weenie so I don't care if they are a little heavier than some other wheels I just don't want something that's not strong as I weigh about 195 lbs.

Hi I saw your posting from a couple of years ago about buying an OCR Elite with Xero XSR-2 wheels. I was thinking of buying the an OCR3 with XSR-3 wheels and I also weigh around 200 lbs. I was wondering if you bought the OCR Elite in the end and how the wheels performed and lasted with someone of our weight?
Thanks in advance

I have an OCR C3 (2005) with the XSR-3 wheels. I have had it about 1.5 years so far and the wheels have held up fine. I run around 195 as well.

I bought a 2005 OCR Limited with the XSR-3 wheels. I found them flexy AND heavy. When climbing hard or cornering at speed, the brake pads would often rub. I weigh 230lbs.
I ditched mine, had a better set built, and am much happier.

I had a set on my OCR1 and they seemed decent , but they are not as good as the Mavics that I have on the OCRC1.

I have a friend with a Giant and some low-end Xeros. They are as heavy as my 32h/36h DeepVs. He hasn't had any problems with them though. He's around 165 lbs.
