I'm thinking of going to something smoother and more narrow for our comfort bkes. Not that the current tires are bad when inflated properly, but I was considering something a little narrower. The rims are 26 x 1.5, and the current tires are 1.95". How narrow can I safely go?

I asked something similair the answers vary 26x1.5 or 26x1.25 was the general concensus a couple did suggest 26x1.

I ordered 26 x 1.5 slicks which i should be getting next week.

Measure the actual interior rim width and use this table...

My guess is that the narrowest you can go is 1.4" or 1.5". If that's the case, I recommend the Ritchey Tom Slick 26x1.4". I run a pair of these on my wide MTB rims and I love them.
