Hi,

I was thinking about the possibility of riding my bike up to Mansfield next weekend to watch and cheer on the racers at the mountain bike Ontario Cup.

Does anyone have a good route to Mansfield from Toronto? I suspect Airport Rd. would be a little scary, so I'd prefer a country road with paved shoulders and not too many cars. I'd probably have a friend drive my car up so we can both take it home.

Cheers,
Paul

Ya, looks like that's what I'll probably end up taking. I was hoping someone would know some secret perfect sideroad...

cheers,

There's all the little line road (1st line, 2nd line, 3rd line)...some of them you can navigate your way up there. Just look on Google Maps...pretty straight forward ride.

In case anyone else is interested, here's what someone suggested from the mtbr forums:

There's lots of great hills to climb out that way, too bad it's mostly fast cars and gravel shoulders.

There is a bike path to Islington and STeeles - (Rowntree Park) - then Islington to Woodbridge, up a residential street for abut 5kms. Then you are almost in Kleinberg - take the country roads from there.

Try a variation of this:
