Hi,
I have a Mezzo D10, and occasionally the chain is prone to dropping from the front chainring. I've managed to solve most of the chain drops to the outside (by which I mean away from the bike frame) by swapping the 56T with a 53T chainring, and using the old 56T as the outer chainguard.
However, the chain can still drop to the inside, and this is risky as it ends up running along the road, and could be dangerous as the times it's happened the chain seems to catch, causing the bike to suddenly stop. I'm trying to think of a way to avoid this chaindrop by using a chain guide of some kind. Any suggestions would be welcome!
The other option would be to switch to a Shimano IHG (e.g. nexus/alfine) but that looks expensive and complicated.
Thanks,
Fred.
