The GT performer what do you think? i thought it would be perfect for an entry level flatland rider. im actualy a little better then entry level but i figured it would still be good so tell me what ya think.

I think that it is not a very well designed bike for flatland at all.

The DK Signal blows the pants off of the Performer for flatland for about $20-$30.00 more.

The GT's flaws: (especially when compared to the DK Signal)
1. Rear brakes on chain stays (low)
2. Sprocket is to large
3. Rear hub is not a freecoaster
4. Rims are not chrome plated
5. Tires are not flatland friendly
6. Cheesy 3-piece cranks increase cost without giving you a better product.
7. Stem is to long
8. Frame does not offer additional scuffing room around the front tire.
9. Frame is to long
10. Steel pegs instead of aluminum

There is ten ways in which the DK Signal at $280.00 from www.flatlandfuel.com beats the GT Performer, and almost EVERY other bike at that price range for flatland riders. The Signal is not a street, dirt, or vert bike, it is designed for flatland use specifically and was designed very, very well.

Not I guess... You have around $250.00 and you want the best flatland bike for your money. The DK Signal has TEN things that make it better than the GT.

That means that the GT is the WORSE entry level bike. It is the one that will cost you about $270.00 in after market parts to get it up to the level that the DK Signal is out of the box. The DK Signal could use some good 3-piece cranks at some point, but no rush on those until you actually need them. 3-piece cranks are NOT necessary on a beginner bike. Good brakes, good geometry, and good rims are what every beginner bike should have... and the DK Signal gives you that.

It isn't just the better beginner bike, it is actually a GOOD beginner bike and it blows the crap out of the GT. Do NOT buy a company because you think they are good, buy from them because they actually ARE good.
