Please share your experiences on how best to pack your Dahon Jack for the areoplane.Do they accept the Dahon Bolso bag or other soft Bag?Does it need a box?Thanks

A suitcase is the way to go and dont tell them it is a bicycle.

I agree with using a suitcase and not volunteering that it contains a bicycle. But note that the Dahon Airporter case is considerably oversize and the 'Dahon' name on the side may encourage questions or measurements to be taken. If possible, I'd see if you can fit it into a regular suitcase that looks (and measures) like everyone else's.
The 'Airporter Mini' does comply with the usual airline size rules - but I'd still rather use a case that isn't branded with a bike name if possible.

airporter mini won't work cause he's bringing the dahon jack (26 inch wheel folder) he'll need the airporter which fits it. Can you remove that dahon name if possible? too bad it's not velcro'ed on or something. Just hope they never heard of the brand dahon before! :)
I wouldn't like to leave my bike in a soft bag incase they throw it around and bang up my derailler and wheels. If not just get a bike box and pay the fees, who knows the airline you are taking might be bike friendly and charge you 30 bucks instead of the airporter which costs pretty much half the price of your jack.

You do need to put it in a suitcase or box. It will get damaged in a soft bag, and airlines are not responsible for damage.
