saw this advertised on bike forums and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this bike. seems awfully cheap, even by wallyworld standards

was just curious if it was good for any type of biking. but probably would be interested in it as a commuter. travel distance of three to five miles daily.
just thought someone here would have first hand experience with this bike or know someone that is using it.

As a first folder I think it would work just fine and see how you like commuting with a folder.

The only real question is whether you want to spring for $159.00 for this, or put the same money towards a more sophisticated bike. Commuting 5 miles on it would appear to be feasible. I had a similar 'cheap' bike last year, it was OK, but annoyingly, bits of it would work loose every week. Wheel cones, handle-post hinge and bottom bracket bearings, especially. Eventually, it just wore itself to stage where it went in the recycling. 9 months old.

Good price and you get a bag and fenders. Still, it might be a good idea to do a little more shopping. Consider Downtube bikes.

thanks for all your replies. evidently i would probably have some issues with the bike at that price level.

Yeah, but you might not. That's the uncertainty with buying unseen. Unless you can find somebody with the same bike to report on, you won't know how good/bad it is.

Where you will get good backup is with the major importers in case anything does go wrong. Downtube Nova (US) looks great at the price, any of the Dahons, or a used upmarket folder. There's a lot of choice just above the level of the lowest price supermarket tensile steel imports. Shopping around for close-outs on last year or 2008 models is a great way to save cash too.
