I can't seem to find em on mtbr.com. The Hardrock Sport Disc is 630 CAD. The normal HRS is $450. Seems the discs don't give that much stopping power. Probably because they're tektro, I think. Ugh.

I've got A hardrock sport disc, and i had the shimano m475 on mine, and the stopping power was rubbish, as soon as i raised he money, i got a set of Magura Julies, so much better....

Apart from the discs though, the hardrock is an amazing bike for the money.

So, it's better just for me to get a hardrock, and eventually upgrades the hubs and get discs?

I'm seriously considering the hardrocks, because they don't have the proper size for me with the shred. I don't want to choose any of the treks because the ones there I doubt will handle drops and are more for xc. Not to mention the shred is like so much more expensive, close to double the price of the hardrock. However, I found the shred more fun. Fun comes at a price.

Also...Is the hardrock frame worth upgrading? Is it tough enough to handle over 4 foot drops? I'm considering a bike that will handle WHATEVER I throw at it. A tough bike. I am only talking about the frame. I can replace components as I go.

Are the hard rocks worth upgrading for a an actual hardcore mtb?

I have asked about it...but he said that it's better ifI get something that's more for FR becuase I do drops. And tassies aren't meant to handle those as much, from what I've heard.
