what should i use to lube the pivot points?
i did a search and for the most often suggestion was to use a light machine oil. i am thinking oil will attract dirt. i myself am thinking using anti seize. i have everything apart so it will be easy to do. i would like the opinions of from people experienced on this subject than i am.
i am in the middle of restoring a 92 trek 2300. i have the bike completely stripped down. i started painting last night. i am waiting for my decals. when they arrive i will spray a coat of clear over them.
i have new cables and housings.
when i assemble everything i would like to use proper lube on the pivot points. i will completely dis-assemble them and lube the pivot points that way. what would YOU use. anti seize, light oil, or some type of grease?
also when i posted a question on removing the decals on carbon fiber. i received several pm's about wanting to see progress pics, on stripping and painting, and details on how i did it.
do fellow forum members want to see that?
if so where should i post this? in mechanics or vintage?
