race is tomorrow. i can't wait. contador is on some good form, and as much as i don't care for him in grand tours, i really want to see him do well.

This should be a very interesting race, Contador, Gilbert, the Shlecks and several others have a very good chance. Go Horner!

I'm still amazed by that. It's probably crazy to say this in the heat of the moment, but you have to wonder if Cadel can finally win a GT this year. He looks a lot more comfortable with BMC and he seems to have that winning mentality now. So much for the guy who never attacks. Or maybe it's easier for him on a one-day race?

It is just one day and it's still early in the year, but today showed that Alberto isn't invincible.

---------SPOILER-------

(just in case)

i think that contador just went too early. evans stated in the cyclingnews article that he drove the climb earlier this week to get a better look at it. he was surprised with how long it was in comparison to how it feels when people are racing it, and said that he needed to pace himself up the climb better. seems like he timed it to perfection. contador was afraid of anton after losing to him last week on a climb in the vuelta a castilla y leon, and didn't want to let him go. he went too early, and was died a thousand deaths in the final 200m.

nice change to see 4 spaniards (anton, valverde, rodriquez, contador) in the top
eight in any classic save san sebastian.

dude, cadel can own the giro if he really focuses on it, who would rival him?? TdF is a different matter, he can do well, but why not win the Giro instead?? i'll be happy to see him win the Giro, much happier than watching him fail at TdF...

oh and these classics are much harder to win than a grand tour for alberto, a classic has a large element of luck involved, making your move at the right time, not going too early...a grand tour is about being consistently the better genetic specimen for 3 weeks, with some racing thrown in for good measure.
