Foo - Annoying...

So there is this helicopter that has been flying around in circles near by for about 35 mins. Starting at 11:30pm till now. It is pretty annoying because it is keeping me from sleeping since I am almost counting how many circles it is doing. There is no spot light so it can't be trying to find someone. What a waste of gas and why this late at night/early morning...kinda pissing me off.

We used to have a Sheriff's department helicopter practicing in our neighborhood quite regularly. Flying low, spotlight on, circling for hours. Due to budgetary restraints, they lost their chopper. They made it sound like crime would run rampant without it, but the only difference we have noticed is peace and quiet. I'm sure some people lost cushy jobs and a fun activity. Perhaps if they hadn't been so obnoxious, another way to cut costs would have been found.

As mentioned above, nightvision, thermal imaging or FLIR does not need a spotlight. I hear of this happening frequently in western Washington, since the marijuana patches in the middle of the forest show up as a distinct and different image from the surrounding trees, when different thermal techniques are used.

So I went to a different entrance to get in my neighborhood and saw a rescue team car and some rescue team people. Apparantly someone got lost or something along the lines of that. Whoever got lost must be below the age of 3 or not too smart to get lost where I live.

I had that happened to me once. Since I could not sleep, I attached night lights to bikes, turned on all the blinkys and got out for a ride. Police didn't like it, ground units stopped me and sent me back home. :(
