I ride about 25 miles a day. It seems every time I break routine for a couple of days, it's very hard to get back to my regular speed and endurance. I don't travel frequently, but have to leave tomorrow for a week in Los Angeles. I'm not a runner (bad shin splints), but really want to keep exercising somehow so I'm not disappointed when I get home to my baby. I'm staying in a tiny hotel that may have an old exercise bike or something in a token exercise room, but I'm guessing my options will be limited. Any suggestions for not losing my mojo?

Will the motel have a pool? Walk some stairs. Try to get 30 minutes of aerobic activity in daily while you are gone, you won't lose as much as you think. Do some core exercises each day, they can be done in a motel room.

Should have taken your bike with you in a bike case/bag. Best way to see the city. You missed out there. How about renting a bike???...

If you are loosing speed and endurance after a couple of days off the bike then something else is wrong i'd say - two days off should only see a gain in fitness.
