Here (http://backroom.hardsdisk.net/eurotour.html#history) is an abbreviated history. Chain Bike Corp. was started by Albert Ross in th '40s and made bikes including Ross bikes. The name of the company was changed to Ross in early 80s (so all the older Ross bikes were made by CBC).

Do you know were or how I can look up the model or what year this bike was made using the number stamped on the frame?Do Chain Bike Corp bikes have any value?

CBC and Ross serial numbers are a mess (mainly because there are no records). The one sentence answer is: No. On the other hand, if you take a picture of the bike and post it, someone might be able to ID the model. Lots of different models of Cruiser (baloon tire bikes) were made by CBC including the best selling Starliner pictured below:

The model name is ofter on the chainguard. Look there for a model name.

for sure it was made before Ross changed their corporate name (early 80s). Look at your Shimano components for 2 letter date codes to get an idea of when it was made

Thanks EjustE. Will I have to take it apart? Do you happen to have a photo example :)

Thanks again.

No date codes on the Shimano components. Here is a picture of the bike. I believe it's a 5 speed: 5 sprockets in the back and 1 in the front.
