Hey! It's not the biker's fault. It's Apple's fault, right? :roflmao2:

Was he also texting while riding no-hands on his brakeless fixie? Were you in Amsterdam for this encounter?

Half of those fools don't even have batteries in their iPods. They're too self-aggrandizing to notice that noise in their ears is only the wind howling through their heads. The other iPod-less half notices but doesn't care.

As a matter of fact, I was hovering in the air at that particular moment.

It was your fault. Everyone knows that salmon riders also hug the gutter. Next time take the lane properly and you won't have any problems. :P

It was your fault.

A&S Theory of Forum Discussion:

If discussing a motorist-vs.-cyclist incident as relayed by another cyclist or the media, the motorist is always at fault.
If discussing a motorist-vs.-cyclist incident with the cyclist victim, blame the cyclist for not being competent enough.
If discussing a motorist-vs.-cyclist incident with a motorist, ban motorist from the forum, preferably before they even say anything.

what does salmon riding mean? Critical mass is a big group of cycists that all go out riding in the same place at the same time. Is that right? (no such thing near where I live)

what does salmon riding mean?

It's when cyclists ride against traffic to get to their breeding grounds and bears try to eat them.

Too bad it was a dude Kurt. If a chick happens to do the same thing next week, get her number for me, sounds like fun. Miami is not that far. I'll drew up a ninja fixie as a peace offering to her.

I will, but remember - this thread was a joke in the first place. Look at the recent thread titles, then look at my rider description ;)

Oh no worries on that... I may only have a few posts here, but I have thousands on other forums, I know the deal! I don't even want to know how many hours I've spent in this blasted place since I signed up. It is probably bordering on solid weeks around the clock as I have no job, I am a serious research junky, and when I find a new interest I spend almost all of my time cramming my brain with info on it. I've read all of those posts in entirety... the updates to them, and a good majority of posts from quite a few pages back, just on this section alone. I don't want to mention VC, C&V, Mechanics, Commuting, Cyclocross, EL&G, and so on, plus searches for hours!!!

I was just saying, hypothetically, if you get hit by one of those heathenous types of people... hook me up! hahaha

True. 20+ replies to a joke they didn't get in the first place, plus they can't even figure out that Doohickey's WoF image isn't genuine.

from a 2007 study on bike safety in orlando, Florida....

orlando bike-car crashes 2007
Through proper design, bike lanes can reduce crashes. Bike lanes have been shown to
reduce wrong-way riding, increase motorist and bicyclist predictability, reduce sidewalk
riding, and guide cyclists to the proper position for riding through intersections. Bike
lanes can also reduce crashes that occur when a motorist overtakes a bicyclist by
offsetting bicyclists from motorists. An additional benefit of bike lanes is the visual
delineation of the regular travel lane at night. This becomes very important when
motorists drive at a speed such that they cannot stop in the distance that the roadway is
illuminated by their headlights.

how to reduce bike salmon? better roads planning for bicyclists.

Aha - soon as it's a joke, it's worthless. Therefore, all jokes are worthless.

You do realize that everyone who reads this thread ultimately gets a hearty laugh at all of you A&S fundamentalists.

Obviously, this is a joke, playing on all of the complaints that have been going on in this forum lately.

I'd like to point out, though, that this was posted on 4/24, but Critical Mass is always/only the last Friday of the month, which is 4/30. So the spandex-wearing stink-face having salmon with the iPhone couldn't have been a Masser.

Not in cities where CM offshoot groups have popped up. There's a Saturday CM bunch here in Miami.
