Foo - I'm old & you're a young idiot

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

spry, what part of "caustic soccer mom" did YOU not understand?
AEO - you're just a punk trying to irritate me instead of YOUR mom, which would cause her to stop giving you money. Admit it, and we can be friends, regardless of WHERE you put your feet.

seriously, though. I'm not old enough to not remember thinking nothing bad would ever happen to me. Nothing bad has ever happened - my husband and I have good karma - but young people these days seem to have NO idea that, well, **** happens and then you have to deal with it. What gives with that?

"A parent's only as good as their dumbest kid. If one wins a Nobel Prize but the other gets robbed by a hooker, you failed."
ETA: :( apparently they edit that too. Let's say it's the "s" word that is synonymous with poop

Even at the age of 30, maybe even to 40, "kids" think they know everything.

Well I'm certainly a kid by your standards, however I know that s*** happens - why? Because my parents have raised me that way. When our finances hit the fan over summer, and I was told that I could not attend Aspen Music Festival even though I had been invited with a full tuition scholarship, I shrugged it off, realizing that the money that we would spend to get me there would be better spent towards bills.
Also, at the age of 80, you elderly folks think that you know everything as well ;) We all fall into the same traps of smugness.

Maybe I"m being presumptuous, but at the ripe old age of 25, I already have started to be intolerant to anyone under the age of....well...24? I can only assume that that age increases as my own age does. I tried hanging out with the g/f's sister and her friends once (college seniors), and they were just so absolutely naive - to the point of being stupidly blind - that I couldn't take it.

If he is a punk trying to irritate you it seems to be working. You are telling him to admit something, which he may or may not want or need to admit. Is this a control thing for you? Does he have the upper hand here? What are you trying to prove by starting a thread like this? Caustic soccer mom I see. And this is how you treat someone else's son? I feel sorry for your soccer child.

Nice job, kid. You're demonstrating wisdom beyond some of your fellow posters in this thread.
However, I am not 80. Yet I am still quite capable of stupidity.

I'm not 80, and sure don't know it all; but my 60-y-o bro-n-law sure thinks he does! (Doesn't know **** from a mud fence....)
