I saw a TDF rider with regular STI shifters on the ends of TT bull horns and was thinking of trying this set up. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? I'm wanting to try some TT riding, but don't have the cash to spend on a new bike. Any suggestions?

Nothing new. My LBS has been selling TT bikes spec'd in that manner.

Another thought (naivety alert). Will simply changing the bar out cause the cables to need adjustment?

I pretty much doubt that cable housing length needs to be altered.....very little, if any.

I ran my triathlon bike with STI on pursuit bars (bullhorns) for one year and I didn't like it. I switched to bar-end shifting on the aerobars and bar-end brake levers on the bullhorns and prefer that to STI.

The bullhorns I've seen, with STI, were installed upside down, so to use the hoods instead of the upward bend of the handlebar.
