hey every one..

my dad out of no where says that i got him into this hole crazy mountain bike sport and that he is going to buy a bike thats good from a LBS.. :eek: my dad just when i bought my bike was yelling at me because i spent so much money on a bicycle...well now my dad is looking for a bike to buy..his highest price he is willing to spend is $650 canadian funds...i was just wandering any suggestions on a bike that he is just going to use to go camping because we go camping alot around here..something thats comforable and will handle the intermediate trails. He 43 around 6'3 and about 180 lbs. he looked at the trek 4300 and giant bulder....any suggestions would be great

That's a great story, and proof that cycling (at least cycling enthusiasm) is contagious. Now that he's started down the slippery slope, he can't give you a hard time about spending money on bikes any more.

My dad and I went riding one time...he was on my old Zaskar. Tried to follow me and bunnyhop a curb (I have no idea what he was thinking) and he endoed pretty hard onto asphalt. He was 55 at the time, I think. Picked himself up, brushed off, and kept riding.

Next thing I know, he's got his own bike and is throwing down 60-70 miles a week, even living six states away. Rock on, pops. :)

thats sweet man..hes gunna be livin long if he always exercises like that :beer:

another topic...i think my dad said he wants and would prefer norco kona or specialized..(hes done his own mini reasearch lol) but he says if i go on this website and get suggestions hes open for them.. he just needs a good frame and fork to deal with about 100-150 kms a year...

(any one know where i could find specialized bike prices in canadian)

go to specialized.com and enter the canadian portion of the site. you may also find a dealer locator in there and go see what the prices are in the local shops. The prices they quote are retail and you can usually get them for a little less than the site indicates.
