well, i can vouch that its post 1984, since i know most of the bikes and models before 1984. If the serial number is like the british raleighs, the first digit would be year, meaning its a 1988 model. I'd say it looks like something from the bottom third of the bicycle line, not especially collectable and totally obsolete compared to the worst bike in any bike shop today. however, this does not mean it's not lovable and fun to ride ... :-) :-)
