Northern California - Free bikes - Burlingame, May 15th Embassy Suites

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

N + 2 (For 2 weeks) - would you like them afterwards?
Wife and I are driving my son's van to San Francisco (but not driving it back) - leaving it there for him - and along the way we would like to bike here and there - by that I mean 5 mile rides and the like.

So, today, I picked up a couple of cheap but seemingly decent mtn bikes that have been ridden perhaps 10 times (his and hers). We plan on riding them along the way. 21 speed perhaps a step above a department store bike. Shimano shifters.

So, is there anyone in SF area who would like these bikes after we finish our trip on the afternoon of May 15? Free?

We will be staying at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame.

So far, I have a request for

1. The men's bike

2. A bike charity would like one or both.

I will pick the bikes up today, and will post a pic, if I have time.

If it works out, it would be great if the person getting the bike(s) could follow me in my son's van to the "long-term parking" about 5 miles away, where the van will be stored, and return me to Embassy Suites. We are flying out early on the 16th to Seattle, where we will catch a cruise to Alaska.

FYI, my son (and his wife) are Colorado attorneys who do a lot of work in CA - Ninth Federal District Court in San Francisco - class action - American's with Disability Act - disability access class actions against corporations such as Taco Bell, Burger King, KMart, etc. He is totally paralyzed from the shoulders down (Rugby injury in 1986), hence the need for a specialized van (lowered floor, ramp, etc.) in San Francisco parked close to the airport to where they frequently fly. His old van, parked there, is wearing out (1993), he has bought a new van in CO, and this old Colorado 2002 van will now be his CA van.

I sent emails to the two folks interested

Thanks for responding and for the very courteous treatment of a "foreigner" to the N CA forum.
