When I am riding longer than about 1 hour I keep having a problem with genital support. It seems that after I start sweating my shorts lose support and "the boys" drop. When this happens "the boys" are jostled with every pedal stroke. I do wear decent road bike shorts (Pearl, Nike). Are there some shorts that provide better support? Would a short liner help?

Thank you

Maybe this will help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfaY9ewvpzk

Seriously though I haven't had this problem. Maybe just shorts doesn't cut it for you; maybe you need a jock strap to hold them securely.

Or perhaps a different seat.

for me it was switching to high-quality 10-panel shorts. the fabric "opens up" less and keeps my boys and their cap'n in place, preventing chaffing from the motion. i went with LGs since i've had good experience with them over the years, but i know several other companies make similar shorts. one recommendation: odd as it may be (or at least it is for me), go to a store and try on a bunch of different brands. at one LBS i went to, the guy tried to sell me some Italian jobs that were supposedly 10-panel; they ended up fitting worse than the ones i was seeking to replace and costing about 20% more than the LGs i ended up with. it was at the same store that i also tried some 8-panel LGs (which felt great), but the guy had already been a shameless up-sell ham, that by then i just couldn't trust anything, let alone a ~$100 decision.
