I went with 25X700 tires,as I ride on crushed limestone st times, and I also added Shimano M324 pedals. I have a rack for my pack and my panniers, as I will also be using this bike to commute to where I teach. I sold my old Raleigh C-200 to a fellow teacher who wanted to get into cycling.

Congrats on the new bike, I have a Cypress LX and love it. Need a better saddle though I think?? My butt gives out before my legs.

I purchased the Rapid 3---I also forgot to mention that I did upgrade my saddle---the one that came from the factory is unbelievably uncomfortable. got a deal at the LBS---I bought my Raleigh from them quite some time ago, so I have been dealing with them for service and accessories. They gave me some nice discounts and the seat was marked down, too.

I like the multi-purpose pedals. 98% of the time I ride with clipless shoes, but there may be a time when I ride with my little nephews so I just uses my beat-up tennis shoes.

I use the bike to commute and to ride on the Canal Towpath here in the Cleveland area...as well as through our metro-park system. I will uploand pics of it soon.
