I have an FSA gossamer crankset that I would be using it with. (double, cross specific gearing)

I've seen it done before. Doesn't mean that it's an ideal set up though.
They are generically compatible but reviewing Park tools writeup shows
variances in the way the crank interfaces with the
bearings, such that some combos "might" put pressure on the bearing. As long as this
is appreciated the assembler can compensate appropriately. Good price on the Shimano
bearings so worth trying.

I am running just this combo. I read a lot of reviews that said the FSA BB was delicate, which I ain't. It works, though after 600 miles I got a sudden and ugly crunch in a bearing. I'm stripping it down this weekend to figure it out. So, proceed, but have a backup handy.
