Advocacy & Safety - Hello form BikeDE, a Delaware Bicycle Advocacy Group

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I haven't been around here in ages, since someone elected me VP of BikeDE. The last thing I advocated was "stop the Viet Nam war."

I'm surprised though, how much can get accomplished when a group of people get serious, get organized, and get busy.

Please stop by my website where I take a more casual approach to advocacy with a variety of blog entries aimed at the general public of returning cyclists and new cyclists.

We just had a fatality of a 16 year old boy at an intersection that doesn't provide proper safety measures for pedestrians and cyclists. I just posted a photo-essay from a different point of view.

The blog is at www.delawarebikerides.com

I hope to network with other advocates and make Delaware a more bike-friendly state.

Man, that makes me feel kind of sad for the girl in the bike who are trying to get through the intersection.

(I'm in Orlando, Florida.)

Congrats, Caroline.

I got my start riding in Delaware. Grew up around Newark. I did the MS150 at ages 12 and 13 in '90 and '91 on my parents' old 1973 Atalas! They still live there and work at UD.

I enjoyed the photos in your blog. Newark sure changes, and stays the same to be sure. I used to be that young longhair w/ a guitar on Main Street!

A great state for riding, no doubt!
