Which of the two?I hope to start racing in November. I plan to sell my road frame and use the Campy Centaur parts and wheesl (Protons) on a cross bike. The Cruces is a bit more $$, which gives me less room to upgrade.

I've gotten an offer on a Lyon Steel frame, which is a bit on the heavy side(4 lbs).Is anyone familiar with this frame?

Thanks

Hmm, the Lyon frame looks intriguing. Would it be custom built for you? A 4lb frame could still build you a pretty light bike.

I haven't found the ideal frame/bike yet.
I've been toying with the idea of having my ideal cross frame built for me by Bernie Mikkelsen. http://www.mikkelsenframes.com

No, the Lyon frame would be second hand. I'm considering it, but 4lbs is a lot for a 140lb rider.I'm kinda a weight weenie, even though I wish I wasnt. It would be perfect forme 52cm and a 54cm tt. I think itd come close in price to the Salsa Cruces for me at cost.

Hmmm,,, decisions....decisions

the salsa will be lighter, and comes with a carbon fork. i've seen one close up, and it's quite nice. i would not use your protons racing, though.

I think I'm going for the Redline, a little cheaper, realtivley light, and I got a good deal, so I can afford to get a new paint job. I'm thinking matte black.

I also considered the Redline for the reasons you stated. However, my LBS gave me such a great deal on the Salsa - I just couldn't pass it up. Post some pix when you get it!!!! :)
