Road Cycling - Masi Gran Criterium??

Ok I did a search and only found fairly old posts and none about this frame so sorry if I missed something. Was looking on eBay because of another thread and when I checked the sellers other items I found this frame (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=22681&item=3697112124) . I had never heard of Masi but with an Easton Scandium and carbon fiber mixed frame this seems like a pretty good deal to my untrained eye. Weight is 4.17 lbs for the frame fork and headset and on the site the full bike (built as stock) is quoted as 17.3 lbs.

Anyone ride one of these or know anything about them?
$650-$675 shipped seem like a decent deal?

ThanksNo connection to the old Italian Masi.Made in the orient frame and the fork alone sells for over $300. That's heavy compared to good expensive Sc frames.

Ah, you have already started looking...you crack me up...of course, the Orbea is in the shop getting a new compact crank, already...lol

The Gran Criterium frame for 2004 is made in Italy, not sure if that is a 2003, as the 2004 has carbon chainstays too. You could always call Masi. But then again, does it really matter?

Dude it has to be my personality...I need to go to a shrink or something. So my bike kicks @ss, I love it...and now I want to upgrade every component on it. Then my dad says he is looking for a high end bike so I start looking at them to help him and now I am lusting after something light and custom and....well expensive. :D

Hmm the auction has ended. I guess either someone bought it off of eBay or someone didn' tlike that they had it on there. Oh well. :)

Then my dad says he is looking for a high end bike so I start looking at them to help him and now I am lusting after something light and custom and....well expensive. :D

Here's my plan, sick bastard that I am...I am making serious progress on my climbing, so I've dropped the triple in favor of a compact set-up. I have a goal of riding every mountain around here by December. If I do that...I order myself an Orbea Mitis or maybe even Orca, with Campy Chorus except for the cranks, which will be FSA compact. Or maybe I just upgrade the Volata. So, see....you aren't alone.

I have a goal of riding every mountain around here by December. If I do that...I order myself an Orbea Mitis or maybe even Orca, with Campy Chorus except for the cranks, which will be FSA compact. Or maybe I just upgrade the Volata. So, see....you aren't alone.

Yea I have my eye on the Serotta Colorado III or Coeur d'Acier some time down the road. :D But realistically I need a ton more time in the saddle before I go that far. I will be upgrading components by next summer for sure though, probably start to swap everything out for Ultegra (currently Tiagra) this winter at some point. Then ride all next year on my current frame with those components and then think about the future.

Got any thoughts on pedals? I am currently riding on Shimano M520s and think I may be getting hot spots. The outside of my left foot tends to go numb or hurt during a ride and I find myself fidgiting with my shoes (Sidi Genius 4s so I hope it isn't the shoes :D but it happened with my Specialized Comps too). I am thinking of getting the Look A5.1s that are on sale at Performance.

I have Northwave Evolution shoes, Look carbon pedals...and I love them...the Northwave give your feet some breathing space without being sloppy...the pedals, couldn't be better and they are nice and light...and as you will hear here a million gazillion times, rotating weight is the best kind to reduce...
