Road Bike Racing - Is there a realistic alternative to OLN in US?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Roadwarrior's thread reminded me of this question I have been meaning to ask here. Is there an alternative? If I had one of the big original satellite dishes could I receive Eurosport or some other channel that shows more cycling? I am paying $15/month extra for OLN strictly for cycling, the coverage of which deteriorates every year.

TVE (Spanish station) appears to be doing daily coverage of the Vuelta, 75 minutes a day.

It's available through both DirecTV and DISH (you may have to upgrade to the Spanish programming channels), and quite a few cable companies (I have Comcast and can subscribe to it).

I have Comcast Digital Cable and I added TVE and 9 other spanish channels for $5.95. I'm just going to cancel the service once the Vuelta is over.

Hmmm... I have DirecTV but can't figure out how to add TVE.

Hmmm... looks like I'd have to order one of the DirecTV Para Todos packages to get TVE.

Rats! I have Cox cable. I just called. They don't offer TVE. I would have subscribed. I've been wanting to learn Spanish anyway. Would have been great motivation, and I could have dropped the OLN package until next year! I may have to consider switching to DirectTV.

Edit: Just talked to DirectTV. Looks like their service, with the Spanish channels including TVE, PLUS OLN is quite a bit cheaper than my digital cable service, and that's for 3 rooms! I WILL be considering that change! $49.95+1.50 for OLN, total, vs something like $57+6 on cable. That's basic stuff; I don't have HBO or any of the other premiumsstuff.
