I am wanting to get into road biking and have been looking at used bikes in the 400.00 range.
I found a bike made by Jamis that I believe is from the late 90s and it seems to be in pretty good shape.
It has a metal frame and the Tiagra group with 3 chain rings and 32 spoke tires.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Jamis has a good reputation, so you would not be disappointed if it fits you. It probably cost close to $1000 when new. Be prepared to spend on accessories (floor pump, tools, pedals & shoes, shorts).

I also found a 2001 like this in well used but pretty good condition for 500.00?
Any thoughts between the two?
The 1990s steel Jamis is 300.00 the Specialized is 500.00

Forgot to mention the 2001 Specialized allez comes with pedals the Jamis does not.
