I've had my Clockwork for about 6 months now, and it's time for me to do some upgrades, since things are getting a little whacky.
First, I've been having problems with my rear spokes, as they have been starting to break at an alarming rate. Had one spoke break, chalked it up to the wheel being severely out of true, and got it replaced at my LBS. One week later, and I have another rear spoke break. So now I'm considering just buying some wheels. I'm wanting some Deep V's, but I can't decide between the Weinmann's or the Velocity's, as the Weinmann's look so similar and are so much cheaper.
Next, I'm wanting to change out the entire drive train. I was thinking about going with some Sugino RD2's but I've seen some people complaining about chainline problems. Since the noise is the main reason I'm changing drive trains, I'd like to get something that's going to be nice and quiet. I also have practically no idea what I need to do about the BB. Any suggestions here would help.
Last, I'm looking to replace my stem and handlebars. The stem is going to be an issue, I believe. I want to go with a quill stem, possibly a nitto dynamic or pearl (i'm afraid the technomic would be too large). The problem is that all the nitto's I can find are for a 1" headset. The Clockwork comes with a 1.125" threadless headset. I'm pretty much a noob on conversions, so I have no idea how to solve that problem.
Any help on these issues would be great. Thanks!
