Problem: 2 fixies that have same function...light, fast town riding. Want something to be a dedicated commuter and also do some hardpack, flat, rails to trails stuff. Can't get a new bike, so I need to mod one of these.

Option 1: Throw some 700 x 28s on the Pista and plastic fenders and use as described above.

Option 2: Buy new fork for the IRO SE, throw on some 700 x 32s, run it as a single speed.

Option 2 is obviously more expensive, and the Pista is not good for long rides b/c no bottle mounts (I do have seat post clip on mounts though).

Looking for opinions/ ideas. Basically, I want one of these bikes as a fun quick sprint around town bike, and the other as a workhorse.

I am leaning towards making the pista my workhorse b/c its heavier, geared a little higher and I have had it longer, so it has mor bumps and bruises. Plus, with the carbon fork and a little lighter gearing, the IRO is one quick speed demon.

on the other hand...it would be nice to have a singlespeed.
