Commuting - Packing the Pack

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm just interested in seeing when everybody packs their bags for the commute to work.

Well I voted before I go to work but...
I keep a suit or two at work and a few ties, and after one almost embarrassing morning a clean shirt and underwear.
Generally I throw a shirt and underwear in my bag just before I leave home.

Right before leaving.
But refilling tires, changing batteries, kissing the wife--these could make me late!

As my brain cells die off, establishing routines becomes more and more important. I do everything in a certain order in the morning, including checking the weather to decide what clothes to bring to work. (I work in an old building that's very slow to respond to weather changes; it gets very hot in there on worm days during heating season, so I bring summer clothes.)
I do have spare everything at work in case I forget something.

I wear scrubs at work, that I launder at work along with the rest of the surgical laundry. (By the way, I do mean I launder, it isn't sent out.) So all I pack in the morning is my lunch & clean underwear. I haven't figured what food group the underwear counts as yet.

I pack my lunch, change of clothes, and my bike kit (pump, patch, tool, poncho). And of course whatever is in the bag already (pens, Palm Pilot, etc). I secure this to the rack with a bungee cord, along with a pair of gloves and my orange vest.
Basically everything I need.

The night before for me. I've forgotten too many things when scrambling around trying to pack in the mornings. At one time or another I've forgotten my lunch, shirt, underware, towel, soap - everything but pants!

Well I always PLAN to pack everything the night before, but usually end up doing it in a rush in the morning. Sometimes I have to take my lunch out of the fridge in the morning, too. A lot depends on how much I'm taking, if it's a "freight" run or not.

I work between two offices. I have clothes at both. Unfortnuately I only have a shower at one.
The good thing is though, I'm about to go full time at the office with the shower.
