Now that I've managed to get it mounted, I wanted to give some feed back about the rack, as changing the rack on a Trek 520 seems to be a regular post. WOW IS THIS THING OVER ENGINEERED! I've had several racks during my cycling life, and nothing has even come close to the construction quality of this rack. It is rated at 88lbs (40 kilos) and I'll bet that is a conservative rating. It is made of chromoly steel and heavily triangulated (yet not heavy) and it is the only rack that I have seen that doesn't use those jury rigged pieces of twisted flat metal to secure it to the seat stays. It goes for $100. The Bruce Gordon rack at $150 is probably in the same ballpark, but I doubt if any other rack (other than custom made) comes close.
