I had a Tamer Weekender model on my FX,mainly ride on pavement and little on gravel/dirt, could not see any advantage of it bcz i am a light weight,i am giving it away if anyone pays the shipping.

Thudbuster. Heavy but good.

Had a Thudbuster on my Cannondale MB about 10 years ago. It was pretty good even under my 240 pounds, but I got my first mountain bike in the early days and learned all the old school tricks about riding a rigid bike in rough terrain. I still instinctively stand up in technical riding and "float" rather than letting the bike do the work. When I made myself sit down, though, the Thud was good even on fairly large bumps.
I also had a cheap (like $40) telescoping post on an old Trek I used as a commuter. Can't remember the brand name. It was useless on anything resembling a bump, but did do a decent job of taking the buzz out of chip sealed roads and rough pavement.
Would I buy them again? Probably. But I don't ride mountain bikes much anymore, and big tires are about as effective as the telescoping post at absorbing small shocks on a road bike. Post Moderne, that's the brand name. Haven't heard of them in years.

I have a Thudbuster ST on my Bike Friday Tikit folder. Makes the ride more comfortable, smoothing out bumps. I just use this bike for general recreational cycling (beach cruising, bike paths).

This seat post is smooth. Has a preload adjustment on the bottom of the seat post as well as the wide-range open/close (via 3mm hex key) adjustment on the side.

Not a suspension seatpost, but I have a Koobi saddle with built in elastomers. It seems to work.

It's been discontinued though there are new RockShox models out there.
It did take the edge off bumps, but the bushings didn't last long. Maybe one year. Eventually it felt like a loose saddle rail clamp. Tossed it.
The new models might have better longevity.
