Hey all, new guy here. I live just north of Cincinnati, Ohio and have lived here all my life. The best job I ever had was working for a Family owned shop and loved every second of it. My initial passion was BMX - racing, freestyle, just cruising with my friends...you name it, if it could be done on a 20 inch bike, we did it! I also got into MTB through the shop and the great guys I worked with, and had a lot of fun re-learning how to ride a bike. Despite my more aggressive cycling roots, I was a closet road fan. When the shop owner who I used to work for (and am still friends with today) came across an older 80s Bianchi fixer, he accepted it as a trade and called me up, and it was in my garage and in the stand that night. Its sea-foam green and a bit of custom patina, mis-matched wheels and some funky bars...but its got good indexed down tube shifters, moves when I spin the pedals, and stops when I squeeze the brakes, so it fits all my criteria for a good bike ;). Heres my bike wall at home:http://http://i692.photobucket.com/albums/vv287/4cylndrfury/Bikes%20made%20out%20of%20Awesome/BikeWall.jpg

Thanks

Hello and welcome to Bike Forums.

The Great Lakes regional forum might be good for getting in touch with other riders in your area.

Here's a good place to start for local rides: the Ride Line (http://groups.google.com/group/cyclecincinnati/topics). You can subscribe to the google group, and get the announcements as emails, or go here and read them off the web page.

Nice looking Bianchi.

Thanks, its a work in progress. I need to ditch the Biopace chainrings and Id like a nicer wheel set. Im going for the bicycle equivalent of a resto-mod. Eventually I want to upgrade the whole drivetrain, and get a nicer front end (basically just bars, stem and brake levers), but the indexed down tube shifters and cromo fork are staying for sure! There is nothing better looking than a clean set of bars without integrated shifting on an older bike! I also want to have the frame re-sprayed, but that will come later.
