She was the most amazing woman... so soft spoken and articulate until she took the stage and then... pure magic.

She was a legend before I was even born.

I recently read "Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horne" by James Gavin. A very interesting and insightful book. I recommend it. Lena's rendition of "Honey in the Honeycomb" in Cabin in the Sky is absolutely one of my favorite moments in cinema.
