I'm in my late 60's and new to bicycling. Took a Senior Biking class at the park bureau last summer (where we rode recumbent trikes). Once I was comfortable with the gears and the hand brakes, I tried two-wheeling on my husband's Townie. I've ridden it around my neighborhood many times, without fall off.
Now I'm thinking about getting a bike of my own because his is really too big for me. I don't intend to ride on the streets (at not until I get a lot more experienced!), so I'll be looking for something that's easy to get into and out of my mini van. I plan to take it to one of the many off-street trails in the Portland area.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
