Planning to mount a brake on my vigorelli for the 1st time while not wanting to change the current set up; just mounting a brake (FYI fork was drilled by factory). Happen to have a anodized b123aa mounted and I would like to wonder whether the gold finger brake lever would work with the tighter upper clearance before I order one.

EDIT: I plan to mount it at the top of the bars next to the thicker portion where the clamp goes; not like a hooded road lever. ;)

Gold-finger lever is massive and take up some of that track drop sweet spot. (And, it's so big, you can't palm over it) Plus, the leverage is so weak, you need to use two fingers to offer strong braking anyway. I would go with a cross lever: smaller and does work when it needs to.

B123AA should have 23.5mm bar diameter, but the aluminum sheathing (near stem) should make it 25.4mm. So you prolly need to go with 26mm cross levers. Don't worry nothing gets wasted, they are real nice things to have in your tool box anyway. I grinded 23.5mm cross levers (tektro) and used em for a while, but I moved on to a Salsa one. (a little bit too big tho).

I use my gold finger with one finger & works fine.
