Nope. My real last name isn't Scrod. That's a nickname I've had since I was a little kid that has pretty much become my official surname over the past 30 years. It's an old New England fisherman's term meaning "catch of the day". :D

Unfortunately, everyone outside of New England assumes it has something to do with balls.

Now I know his first name!

Yes, it's really Dave.

No, I know. Your last name starts with a G. ;]

You were in a band, that's some juicy news to me.

"scrod" means "catch of the day"? I always thought it was just whitefish (cod, haddock, sole, etc.) fillets

Scrodzilla
05-10-10, 08:24 PM
Pretty much the same thing. It was a general name for whatever whitefish the fishermen happened to haul in the most of that day. Local restaurants began advertising Scrod (or 'Schrod' in some parts) on their menus because they never really knew what they'd get.

I once had a shirt from some seafood place in Gloucester that said I HAD SCROD LAST NIGHT in big yellow letters on the front. I wish I still had that damn shirt!

Back in '98 (when you were 6 years old).

antilogy - all shirts run true to size except for the one organic cotton one which runs a little smaller (which we also happen to be out of at the moment ).

any photos of the yellow one? I'm considering it, but some yellow shirts are a gross yellow, and some are a better one.

Sorry for the crappy pic...I only have my phone right now. It shows the color pretty well though.

I know what your saying about yellow shirts. This one's a good yellow (not too "lemon", not too gold). It's pretty much spot on with what the mock up looks like on the site.

Riot - you asked in the other thread but I figured I'd repost my response here in case anyone else was wondering:

Will you have the hats and the 'Massive' shirt back in stock before the deal runs out?

Most likely, yes. I'm expecting the 'Massive' shirts any day now and hopefully the hats will be in my hands soon as well because my e-mail has been blowing up over them. I think I may have gotten anxious and put that one up a little too soon!

thank you sir
Well, the STR-share the road shirt for one,
and that dope vintage trickery shirt which I've just seen today on what appears to a path racer -yes,yes please.
and a white Sheldon "ride" perhaps as well.

Scrodzilla
05-13-10, 09:46 PM
Right on. I'll make sure to keep some in stock. Not keeping XXLs was something we were torn in half over...we weren't selling any but not having them seems unfair to those who may want them. I have one XXL white 'RIDE' shirt in stock and will make sure to get a few of each design. Please keep checking back!
