has anyone replaced the freehub body on a vuelta xrp pro wheelset? it is definately not a standard freehub setup. The freehub body was released by an allen keyway on the non-drive side, and the freehub is held on the main portion of the rear hub by a set of 8 or so splines (from the drive side).

i am thinking maybe a joytech or formula hub?

i know that it is probably more cost effective to purchase a new wheelset, but i would like to replace this freehub, and use the wheelset for cross, and think about purchasing a new wheelset for road riding.

if anyone has a cheap set of takeoffs with 9 speed cassette, let me know :)

Is the freebub body bad or are you just changing to a Campy?

body is bad. bearings are bad, and pawls got screwed up somehow... i took it apart and somewhat cleaned/greased it to get me another week or 2 of riding while i source a new freehub body

at risk of using the wrong terms, i need to replace the whole mechanism that removes from the rear hub. (which i am calling the freehub body?)

well, i got it figured out... took the entire thing apart, re-set the pawls, lubed up the bearings and replaced... put it all togather and viola... its working (for now)... am trying to find a place to source another one of these crappy taiwanese hubs so i can keep this wheelset for cross, and will try to find a dedicated road set (much nicer than swapping tires/tubes all the time)

usually i take things apart, and wreck them in the process, then buy new, so i know how to fix it right later... thankful this time my expensive curiousity habits didn't get the best of me... next to remove a bottom bracket just to see how it goes in

Glad to hear you got the hub fixed. Were the parts actually bad or were they just out of adjustment?
