Hi, I live on the rainy side of Washington! I'm going to be shamelessly haunting threads here trying to learn all I can about bike repairs. I had an awesome mountain bike that I really never had to think about beyond usual maintenance, but it got stolen a couple of weeks ago. A new one is not an option, but I've acquired a couple of slightly-scruffy ones from sympathetic friends, so I have to learn how to make them reliable enough to be confident taking them out. I bike mainly for exercise & just for the fun of it; I love abusing my bike over rough ground. I'm one of those "over 40" cyclers. I own NO spandex, been biking in jeans, sneakers, and a bright-orange safety vest for over 10 years, suits me fine :D
