Hello
We will be bike touring in Germany for one month - flying in and out of Frankfurt airport. Does anyone know of a hotel near the airport who might be willing to store our cardboard bike boxes for those 4 weeks?
Also, how easy is it to bike out of the airport to the main River bike route? What is the Main River bike route like? (i.e. is it a trail, road, quiet, busy, etc.)
Any hints/advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Joan & Darren
Hi,
Regarding the hotel I don't know.
Bike out is easy. In front of Terminal 2 you'll find signposts for cycling paths to Frankfurt. Another option is to take the subway. 12 min to Frankfurt Main station. Bicycles are free of charge
You can make an routing on http://www.radroutenplaner.hessen.de/
Main river route. It's flat, mainly paved, good signed and on at least weekends busy

As the man says, it's really easy to ge to the Main River bike route from the airport. I even posted a detailed map online somewhere. When are you coming?

You might try the Alpha Hotel in Neu Isenburg (the closest town to the airport). They have a garage they use for bikes. I'm sure if you book first and last they would store the boxes.
Frankfurter Straße 123, 63263 Neu-Isenburg, Deutschland - 06102 17024
I hope that helps.
