Hey everyone, I am going to vacation in Manitou springs CO in a couple weeks (very close to colorado springs) and im wondering about the mountain biking there. Do you really have to pay so much to rent a bike and ride down pikes peak if you already have a bike? And where else can I go for a nice advanced ride?

One of my all time favorite mountain ride is the trail around Rampart Range Reservoir. To get there from Manitou, drive west on highway 24 to Woodland Park, then take the road up to Rampart Range Road. Turn right on RR Road then drive to the access road to the reservoir, where there is parking. Find the trail at the water's edge near the dam and follow it clockwise.

like Shifty said, take Rampart all the way to Woodland park, its a very nice ride and has plenty of side trails you can take. You can also go up behind Divide and do some riding there.
